Leading with radical empathy
MIT professor and The Empathy Diaries author, Dr. Sherry Turkle, believes empathy is a must-have character trait for leaders. “An empathetic leader can tolerate friction. The empathetic leader doesn’t see friction, pushback or disagreement as a sign of personal failure, but as a sign that he or she is dealing with human beings.” Sherry joined HOW Institute distinguished fellow, Dana Born, for a new episode of HOW Conversations where the two discussed what Sherry calls “radical empathy” in the workplace and how a Pause can help us prepare for the return to work.
