Leading with radical empathy

MIT professor and The Empathy Diaries author, Dr. Sherry Turkle, believes empathy is a must-have character trait for leaders. “An empathetic leader can tolerate friction. The empathetic leader doesn’t see friction, pushback or disagreement as a sign of personal failure, but as a sign that he or she is dealing with human beings.”  Sherry joined HOW Institute distinguished fellow, Dana Born, for a new episode of HOW Conversations where the two discussed what Sherry calls “radical empathy” in the workplace and how a Pause can help us prepare for the return to work. Watch the conversation here and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Sherry’s book, The Empathy Diaries, is now available in paperback, click here to order your copy.
